Carpenter ants are very difficult to kill or exclude in some areas of the country. One page I would recommend reading is Do Your Own Pest Control. This will give you a very good idea of the options you have in the battle against carpenter ants. You may also want to consult a pest control operator. I also recommend using the Safety Source for Pest Management to locate a professional pest control operator near you who uses the least toxic method of pest control.
