Is there any chemical difference between regular crystal salt and table salt?

The difference is that iodine is added to table salt and cornstarch is also sometimes added to make it pour better. Other salt also has different shapes. For instance I use Diamond Crystal kosher salt. I have to almost use as much as double the salt in some recipes because of the shape. There just isn’t as much salt in a spoonful as the smaller shaped table salt. And the crystals are also flatter so they are good for curing meat as they lie flat on meats and such.
