Is there any danger being around pigs or eating pork products?
Yes and no. As noted above, humans can be as much of a danger to pigs as pigs can be to humans. Because we are dealing with a novel flu strain that is now widely spread in the population, and because most of us don’t live on farms, the average person is now much more likely to catch the disease from another person. The virus is primarily transmitted by droplets floating in the air, so eating meat of any kind, including pork, doesn’t represent a threat.
