gsatlanta • Just install the new sprocket on the shaft, install the nut however you best can, and then weld the nut to the end of the countershaft. [When you come to replace the sprocket] grind the weld down, replace the sprocket, reinstall the nut and weld it back on again. Flash 412 (CO) • When welding, make sure you attach the Earth clamp to the sprocket. If you attach it to the engine etc, you will toast the transmission bearings, as the current could cause arcing within the bearing cages/cones/balls etc.
