Is there any funding available to help underwrite the health services for uninsured/undocumented?
• There is no additional funding than the amount stated in the RFPs. • Will the funding be allocated by the percentage of people in each region, i.e. will the New York City region receive 79% of the $450,000. • The funding will not necessarily be allocated by percentage of target population in each region. Awards will be based on the viability of the proposals to meet the needs of the target population. A large percentage of the target population reside in the NYC and Long Island regions but there are a number of upstate communities in which a significant number of the target population reside. • The RFP talks about community based organizations being the sub-contractors. Is there an issue if a community based organization wants to be the lead agency – If they can show they have appropriate experience and they subcontract with other federations and/or coalitions? • A community based organization may definitely be the lead agency if it meets the RFP’s criteria.
