Is there any new dog breed found??
I don’t know what you really mean by “new” dog breed being “found”. There are several old breeds, that are just now being recognized by the AKC. In fact, there have been so many breeds added lately that AKC is restructuring the Group designations. Right now there are 7 Groups Working, Sporting, Herding, Hound, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting. In the beginning of the AKC there were two, Sporting (Gun dogs, bird dogs and retrievers,) and Non-sporting, which included all the known working, terriers, herding and companions. As more breeds were added over the years the groups had to be split even further. The last split was back in the 80s when the working group was split in to working and herding. There have been a lot of hounds added lately, like the Plott Hound, the Lundehund and a couple others that are old breeds in their country of origin. The Hound group will be split and will be scent hounds and sight hounds. There will also be a new “companian” group. Which will include companian dogs l
