Q: Is there any relationship between the status setting enabled on voicemail and the number of rings a caller receives? It would be nice to have control over the number of rings generally and in particular I’d favor immediate forwarding to voicemail when, say, my status is “On vacation.” A: There is no relationship between the status setting and the number of rings, because the number of rings occurs before the call rolls over to UniBears. You, however, have control over how incoming calls are managed before they hit UniBears. For example, depending on your telephone set and line configuration, you may be able to press a call forward variable (CALL FWD) button your set and have all incoming calls automatically transferred to the UniBears system, without the caller hearing any ring at all.
