I’m not sure what you are attempting to make work. My PS1 controllers work without changes in my PS2. They don’t vibrate and don’t have the joysticks but if the game doesn’t use those features I haven’t noticed a difference. If your controllers aren’t working perhaps the game you’re playing requires the analog features of the DualShock controller. I’ve also used my PS1 memory cards and multi-tap with my PS2 without any modification. These only work with PS1 games but they work just fine in the PS2. If you are trying to add the analog, vibrate and joysticks to a PS1 controller then it’s probably not cost effective. The last time I bought DualShock controllers they were about $20 each. I guess it would be more in parts and labor to modify the older controller.
