There is no specific assistance for a SO in San Diego, there may assistance if the person is on probation or parole depending on their officer/agent and services available at their office (most parole offices have a job counselor for parolees, but not specifically for SO’s). The Employment Development Department (EDD -state employment) offers services to ex-felons (if the SO in question has a felony conviction) and some have a counselor dedicated to ex-felons. Some private job agencies work well with, again. ex-felons and not specifically SO’s, and may be helpful. A lot is going to depend on the qualifications of the person, the history and time-frame of the offense(s) and most importantly how the person presents his/herself at the job interview and deals with (explains) the offense(s) history.
