Is there their really a semi-driver who loves there job?

The job itself is great. The cutthroat competition, vilification in the media, DOT officers who pull in my truck and pick apart my logs looking for the slightest little mistake while absolute junk is allowed to roll on by, the overwhelming amount of laws to follow which vary from state to state and rarely have anything to do with actual safety, and the crappy treatment by shippers and recievers who expect me to give away my time for free–those things aren’t so great. Unfortunately, many people expect subhuman treatment to be just another part of this job and have no problem at all putting up with it while accepting low rates or pay to do it. That’s the part I don’t like. Other than that, I absolutely love trucks and trucking.
