Is this normal speech development for 12 month old?

I wouldn’t worry at all about the walking. It sounds like she is on track there. Some babies walk at 10 months….others not until 17 months. As for the speech, the only reason I would be concerned is because you are saying that she only responds to her name sometimes and isn’t pointing at things. It makes me wonder if she has an issue with her hearing. If she isn’t responding to her name or pointing at an object when you say it she might not be hearing your well or at all. Talk to your pediatrician about it and see if you can get a referral to have her evaluated. In most states preliminary evaluations are free and you might find that they can offer you assistance if she needs it. Another suggestion I have is to get a book on baby sign language. you can teach her some very simple signs like: milk; Mommy; Daddy; up; help; light etc. My boys loved it! Finally, I know that it’s tough but don’t compare your child to any other child. It is completely true that kids develop at their own pace

children grow at different stages so i wouldnt worry she sounds fine to me, its my daughters first birthday so they are of similar age andi know how it feels seeing people post that their children can say and do this and that, but its different for every baby so try nt to compare. babies can walk anywhere from 9-18 months and its more common for a baby to walk after a year old, and for talking i know of 2 year olds that only say a few words and theres nothing wrong with them. what your daughter already says is a good sign as my daughter also says them words and ta/wow/oh, she learned to say ‘cat’ yesterday as we kept saying it to her (we have a kitten) and she pointed at her and said it several times, some babies learn quicker than others and its normal she will catch up quicker than you know it, all you can do is keep encouraging her saying words constantly and read her a story and encourage her to flick the pages that you have held up for her shell get it in the end.
