Is TYC moving more to a “time-served” model rather than holding youth accountable for their behavior?
TYC will continue to focus on treatment and rehabilitation, which takes into account youth offenses and behaviors. More emphasis will be placed on individualized treatment and youth classification. Youth will still need to meet the legal, time-served requirements associated with their sentences or commitment orders as dictated by the courts.
