U.S. Mint Prints Godless Dollars: Christians should Refuse them! Update Report – Mar 27, 2010 Thankfully, Christians have responded strongly, and the US Mint is trying to say “It was an error!” It was an error alright, just like taking prayer and Bibles out of Schools was an error! Before removing “In God We Trust” from the Godless Dollars, the words “In God We Trust” were stamped where Congress ordered them to be, on the edge of the coin rather than on the usual location. The Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005 states: “The inscription of the year of minting or issuance of the coin and the inscriptions E Pluribus Unum and In God We Trust shall be edge-incused into the coin.” The measure was passed by unanimous consent in the Senate and with an overwhelming majority in the House.
