Although the laptops have wireless capabilities, it is neither a requirement nor the best solution for network connectivity. A wired connection is the recommended and most secure way to get on to the school's network. According to the Network Systems and Services Branch (NSSB), wired connections are always the best, simplest and most trouble-free. NSSB has instituted stringent wireless access guidelines that must be followed if a school decides to implement a wireless network. Consult the NSSB Wireless Standard of Practice for information on deploying and using wireless technologies.  more
