Is xylitol safe to use?
Yes. Our bodies normally produce about 15 grams of xylitol each day. There should be no side effects when you use 4 to 12 grams of xylitol as directed each day. People who exceed 30 grams per day may experience some lower gastrointestinal discomfort (osmotic diarrhea) for a short period of time while their bodies adjust to the increased amount of xylitol.
