Isnt the fireproofing cost substantially more for the Tru-Frame system versus conventional rolled-shape framing considering the open web configuration?
Initially this was thought to be the case but after dozens of buildings now in place there is little or no difference in the fireproofing costs. This results from the fact that the trusses have large angle components that allow direct spray on protection without the need to mesh or wrap leaving a substantially less total area to spray than conventional rolled shaped framing.
