It gets really hot here. Can DeckTunes be mounted in direct Sunlight?

Although DeckTunes was designed for just such a situation, conditions such as those found in the desert Southwest and near the equator can be a bit extreme. We recommend mounting the unit in a location that will provide the best protection from direct exposure to sunlight. The side of a house adjacent to a deck that may only receive a few hours of direct sunlight each day is fine. An uncovered boat dock in Arizona in the middle of Summer is less than optimal but is still acceptable. Not to tempt Murphy however, several units have been in use in areas such as Las Vegas and Phoenix for more than a year without incident. Although the unit was designed to handle extreme outdoor conditions, it is an electronic device and the cooler it’s kept and the better it’s protected, the longer it will continue to operate problem-free. Please see the DeckTunes Specifications Page for acceptable operating and storage temperature ranges.
