A. As health care organizations and payers move toward performance measurement, accountability and transparency in decision making, it is critical that the laboratory be able to demonstrate the effectiveness of practices prior to and after implementation. Demonstrating the value of a practice using a systematic evidence review allows decision makers to make judgments based on validated quality-related outcomes.
