Ive renamed my gamertag via an Xbox 360. How can I change my savefile to have the new name?
Moving stats to a renamed gamertag is simple. First let me clarify one thing: a renamed gamertag is just that; a gamertag that has been renamed but is considered to be of the ‘same account’ as the old gamertag. This is opposed to an entirely brand new gamertag. Anyway, moving to the new name from the old name is simple. Simply try to download stats (but not via the Auto Update feature) with the old name (after having the new name of course), and after a little bit of time, the software will ask if you want to check if this gamertag has been renamed. Choose yes, and after a little bit of time, it will automatically find the new name of the gamertag and convert all of the old names in the savefile to the new name, save a new savefile for the new name, and delete the savefile for the old name.
