Although this is a case of radio interference, the FCC rules do not cover simple motorized appliances, or most kitchen appliances with electrically noisy motors. The FCC does regulate microwave ovens, however. With the recent conversion to digital television, the nature of interference for television is changing, but the FCC is reallocating the radio spectrum for new communications technologies.
