iVI isn updating. How do I get to version 2.0?
iVI has been renamed to iVI Pro in version 2.0 and requires a manual update. Please download iVI 2.0 here. Please don’t forget to also update your dock icon from iVI to iVI Pro. What is the difference between the encoding quality choices in iVI? Up until iVI 1.18 there was only one quality setting. In iVI 1.19 we introduced several new options including Normal, High and Highest. The motion estimation algorithm and number of conversion passes increases from Normal thru High to Highest. We kept the iVI Original format as it was well tested as a fall back in case there were issues with the new settings. We’ll probably retire that setting soon. Highest really does increase the encode time a lot so we’d suggest sticking with Normal or High both of which provide a good level of quality.
