Requests for left turn phasing for intersections under the jurisdiction of the City of Fresno may be requested through Traffic Engineering. The location is investigated, studied and checked to see if warrants are met following the Guidelines of the California Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices. When a location meets warrants for left turn phasing the location is added to the left turn phasing priority list. This list is updated once a year. Before left turn phasing can be installed the location must be assigned funding. Then the signal modification must be designed and then go out to bid for installation or be constructed by new development. The 2010 Left-Turn Signals Priority Ranking Worksheet currently has twenty-five (25) intersections listed. Click here to download an Investigational Request form.
