The Sally lightfoot crab (a common name given to more than one species of crab–some of them quite destructive in a home reef), is known to be unpredictable at best. This one has proven its propensity and preference for the tiny lobster you attempted. I suggest STRONGLY that you discontinue placing small, unprotected crustaceans in the same tank. I would expect that the reef-safe hermits would stand a better chance against this predator. C’est la vies, eh?
