Maestro fails to start on OpenSuse 10.3 and Fedora 8. What can I do?
Maestro can fail at startup with the following error: maestro: xcb_xlib.c:42: xcb_xlib_lock: Assertion `!c->xlib.lock’ failed. Maestro received ABRT signal. The workaround on OpenSuse 10.3 is to set the following environment variable to a null value: bash/ksh: export LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=”” csh/tcsh: setenv LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK “” There is no workaround on Fedora 8. We thank Dow Hurst of the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, for this solution.
