Check the label on that dog food. The food should not contain any wheat, corn, or soy. When I changed to a food without those ingredients, my girls quit licking their paws. If you have ruled out diet, it could be an allergy to grass.

My dog was licking his feet raw and my vet put him on Benadryl and a slow taper of steroids. She also prescribed some medicated pads to wipe his paws with twice a day. They are called Chlorhexidine 3% PS pads by Douxo. The steroids are done, and she said to lower the Benadryl at the end of the summer. The pads can be used all the time if needed. We wipe my dog’s paws after he goes out the first time in the morning and in the evening. At bedtime he still gives his paws a short lick but all the hair has grown back in and they are no longer red or sore. Good luck to you and your dog.
