If you are breastfeeding, providing expressed breastmilk would be the ideal while you are away. Some women do decide to offer formula when they are away and nurse during the feedings that they are home for. If you have started solids, and since you are breastfeeding there is really no reason why you “have” to start yet if you haven’t, it is still wise to offer the milk first and then some solids as a compliment. How often to feed when you are away will be determined by how often you feed when at home. Some babies will nurse quite a bit and end up not taking too much when mom is not available. At this stage it is not so much a concern of the intervals, but the amount throughout a 24 hour period….how that is done will vary. If you have already established some sort of meal schedule, you can stay with that…bottle or sippy cup of milk, with a little solids for breastfast, same later in the day……and milk inbetween for example. Some babies will already be on three meals a day, again
