My bombs never hit the target! Why are there no bombing aids such as CCIP in SF?
By the 1960s aircraft performance had made great leaps, but conventional weapons delivery was still done with techniques developed in WWII. Electronic bombing aids such as CCIP HUD displays and precision guided weapons began to appear in the mid to late 1960s, but did not see widespread use until the 1970s and beyond. All of the flyable aircraft in SF delivered their bombs with very conventional sights. More information on manual bombing techniques in SF can be found in this article.
