My child has a Statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN). Does it affect Secondary transfer?

0

A Yes. The new Admissions Code (Feb 2007) prohibits the use of having SEN in the Admissions criteria. Therefore, if your child has a Statement, you need to express your preferences for which school(s) you wish your child to attend. Even if your preference is for a Special School you still need to express a preference for a mainstream school in case the Special School is full.
