There are two formats of WIDESCREEN that can be found on DVD movies. One is almost exactly the ratio of the TV screen and then movie will not have the black bars. To identify it look for numbers 2.35:1 on the cover of the DVD disc. The second format will be still showing black bars and can be identified by 1.85:1 on DVD cover. In that case, to fill entire TV screen use ASPECT button on JVC TV remote.
