First be aware that there are many ways to adjust your receive audio from your link radio to the remote Echolink station. However, it is more important to ensure that the audio from you link radio to your PC is set at a level that will be allow the DTMF decoders in the Echolink application to work with all the DTMF tones available. Here is your plan of attack: 1. Adjust link radio receive for best DTMF decoding. 2. Adjust PC microphone level for best audio to the remote Echolink station. Before going to step one you should be aware of this fact: Echolink does not respond to all patterns of DTMF codes you send to it. It is very important that in step 1 above that you are viewing the Echolink window while testing DTMF tones. Why? When DTMF tones are detected you will see them appear on your Echolink screen (sysop mode only). If you are not watching your Echolink screen the DTMF tones may be decoded properly but because the Echolink will not respond to some random patterns you won’t know
