Carers Australia represents the needs and interests of carers at a national level, while Carer’s Associations at state and territory level provide a wide range of information and resources to carers, including counseling, information on Centrelink payments for carers and Commonwealth Carer Resource Centres. These centres provide carers with referrals to services and practical written information to support them in their caring role.Carers can contact their Commonwealth Carer Resource Centre on 1800 242 636 to obtain free information on a range of topics.The Parkinson’s Association in your state or territory also provides resource materials for carers, including videos and booklets, and offers family and individual counseling and support.
