Single component paints labeled as an epoxy or a modified epoxy are nothing more than an oil or alkyd type coating that may contain a binder referred to as an epoxy ester. These coatings do not exhibit the type of adhesive strength, chemical or abrasion resistance found in chemically cured 2 component epoxies. We don’t recommend any single component paints for coating concrete floors unless the areas are subject to foot traffic only.
