My organizations KMS host computer was activated using Windows Server 2008 KMS. Can I use the same computer as a host for deploying Windows Server 2008 R2?
Existing KMS hosts installed with Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Vista need an update to support activation of Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Office 2010. This update is available through Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), the Microsoft download center, and the TechNet Volume Activation page. Once the update is installed, you may install the Windows Server 2008 R2 KMS key on the host and activate the product.
