My phone has recieved text messges before so why did I not receive the text message confirmation?
Connect-ED uses what is known as short-code text messaging, this is different from phone to phone text messaging. Some cellular providers block short-code text messaging (Sprint) and others simply do not use short-code text messaging (Cricket). You should call your provider to determine if they allow short-code text messaging.
