My puppy has a runny nose and also sometimes wheezes but he is very active. Is he alright?
My 8 wk old Rottweiler puppy was wheezing and had a slight yellow discharge from one side of his nostrils He showed no signs of feeling bad, and is still very active. I took him to the vet, who checked his temp, which he did not have, listened to his heart and lungs, which sounded find, but looked into his eyes and determined, he had allergies. I live near San Antonio Tx. which is known for all kinds of things that can make you prone to sinus infections and allergies. My puppy just like us humans, can experience the same things. Because he is so young, and did not take a chance of the allergies turning into something serious, the vet, put my puppy on antibiotics for 7 days. He also told me to give him benadryl.for the allergies. If you are a first time dog owner these things will happen, but please keep an eye on the situation, and not let anything slide due to his health.
