My very young childs top front teeth are decaying badly. What is the problem?
One of the things that can cause advanced decay early in a childs life is to use sweets in a bedtime bottle. After your child has teeth never put anything but water in a bedtime or naptime bottle. Putting sweet things on a pacifier is also a no-no. Overuse of candy, soft drinks, gum, etc. and unsupervised brushing can cause a decay problem. Unsupervised brushing for the young child can become just a quick brush and a promise. Children need to understand the necessity for good brushing habits. Parents need to teach this at an early age.
