No. If you are sure that your student has had the chickenpox disease, Queensland Health advises that the varicella (chickenpox) vaccine should not be administered, as those who have contracted the disease are considered to be immune. Similarly, any Year 8 student who has previously had a course of Hepatitis B vaccine is not eligible for the vaccine, as this is not a booster program. The school Hepatitis B program is only for those who have no previous history of Hepatitis B vaccination.
