This dough is rolled out and cookie cutters are used for shapes. Can be painted etc. and used for Christmas tree decorations. A: The one below is from gigglemoose and has worked well for us but I want to tell you about a dough recipe we have switched to and it is so much nicer or different anyways from the salt dough. Cinnamon Dough Buy the cheapest appleasuce and bulk cinnamom you can find. Empty the jar of applesauce into a large ziploc bag and start adding the cinnamom powder, kneading it through the bag. Keep adding the cinnamon until the you get a nice dough of a consistency you can roll out. I roll the dough out on parchment paper and sprinkle it with cinnamon if it should get too sticky. Cut the shapes as you would with salt dough and dry overnight or if you want them dried quicker I put them in the oven at 300 degrees for about 1/2 hour. You will be able to look at them and tell when they are dry. Then decorate. We have some ornaments that are about 5 years old and they smell h
