NEW Q. Is it acceptable to use SSHRC grant funds to pay an hourly wage to a research assistant holding a CGS doctoral award?

A. It is acceptable to use SSHRC grant funds to pay an hourly wage to a research assistant holding a CGS doctoral award. However, a CGS doctoral student holding an SSHRC award may not receive stipends paid from SSHRC, CIHR or NSERC research grants. Stipends are considered scholarships and the student may not receive two stipends from Tri-Council funds.
