In my country it is hard to find anything but version 1.6. I’d like to use it just for Linux but would prefer to save the cost of a modchip. Is a modchip-less hardware method going to be developed for this version? Forgive me if this is a stupid question because there is no possible way it could be carried out. Unfortunately, a proper chipless hardware method, like bios flashing, isn’t going to happen for 1.6 xboxes, as the chip which holds the bios is no longer a writable flash rom chip, so it would be necessary to install a modchip if you want a hardware solution.
