Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Help ?

Stress and OCD do seem to go together. Stress irritates the OCD and the OCD irritates the stress, but your OCD and stress seem to be minor compared to what they could be. I also have OCD but I mostly tend to ignor it. Yes, I check and re-check the locks, wash my hands, etc., but it doesn’t bother me and if it bothers anybody else they don’t say much. If they ask ‘why’ I do these things, I just say ‘OCD’ and they don’t bother me about it. Still, if it would help you feel better, talk to your parents about seeing a doctor about it. There is no need in worrying about what they may say because if you have an illness, you just have an illness, and parents are supposed to help their kids. Don’t be afraid.

Yes, OCD symptoms can increase when stressed. Try some relaxation techniques when you feel stressed. Try closing your eyes and taking some deep breaths in and out a few times while thinking of some positive thoughts. Once summer vacation starts, you may notice a decrease in symptoms due to a decrease in stress. If after school is out and the symptoms continue, tell your parents about it. They will know what to do next. Good luck.
