Overnight Sailing Camps Q: What is the ratio of counselors to campers?
There’s a maximum of 6 campers with a skipper and first mate on each boat. Q: What are the qualifications of the skipper? A:The skipper is a US Coast Guard licensed captain. Other qualifications: Criminal background check, first aid/ CPR and life guarding. Q: How are emergencies handled? A: Each boat is equipped with first-aid supplies and counselors have appropriate training to deal with minor injuries and would take suitable immediate action. In case of a more serious accident which required a doctor’s attention the skipper would head immediately to shore while calling ahead to alert someone to be on hand to meet the boat. Q: What about sea sickness? A: Mild cases of sea sickness can be overcome with sensitivity and care; they usually last only a short time. We have wrist bands and ointment that goes behind the ear. Also, lots of fresh air and looking out at the horizon are good cures for mild cases of seasickness. A more serious case which persisted for more than the first day would
