A good herbicide to control grasses in alfalfa is “Select”. Select will provide fairly good control of annual grasses like foxtail, barnyard, crabgrass, downy brome, and perennial grasses like Kentucky bluegrass. Alfalfa can be replanted anytime after its use. Control of the grasses will be better if they are in a younger growth stage or are regrowing after being cut. Select will not control any broadleaf weeds.
