• Report the Incident. Don’t suffer in silence. Resources are available: • Seek treatment. If you have been injured, seek treatment and document the injury. Tell the doctor what happened to you. • Document the Incident. Write down exactly what was said by the offender as well as a physical description and all the details of the event. • Save evidence. Retain all evidence of the event. • Photograph visible injuries, graffiti, property damage. This will aid in the prosecution and the police department will do this for free. • Collect names and phone numbers of witnesses. If anyone else witnessed the crime, get their names and phone numbers. Get support. There are many experienced people within the criminal justice system and the community who can help.
