Please help…my 1995 Chevy Tahoe key fob will not work right?

It works when it wants to, but right now it is not working. The light comes on, so I’m guessing it might not be making enough connection to work properly. The doors won’t unlock or lock at all. Is there a way to clean the connection up and make it work right without investing in a new one and having to wait for it. That would be a couple of days and I need to be able to use my truck now. The battery is new and when the door is opened manually the alarm automatically goes off until it’s disarmed with the key fob. A: Open the fob and clean the button contacts. Open it just like you were going to replace the battery. While separated, push on the buttons to push the circuit board and rubber button mold out of the plastic housing. Clean the points where the buttons touch the circuit board (the areas will look dirtier than the rest) with a rag or your shirt. Also rub the back of the buttons. Then snap it all back together.
