A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who spcializes in diagnosing and treating mental disorders. A psychoanalyst is a psychiatrist who specializes in a particularl type of therapy called psychoanalysis. A psychologist is just that, someone who has studied psychology. If they are a registered clinical psychologist I think they can diagnose mental disorders but they cannot treat them with medication. A social worker is someone that strives to address social problems, almost always by means of therapy with patients, I’m not sure if they can diagnose if they are a licensed clinical social worker LCSW.
