While the sound pressure level achievable with NXT panels is comparable to conventional speaker systems, the audio bandwidth of a single NXT panel can be considerably wider (up to 8 octaves as opposed to 4-6 octaves). NXTs Audio Full Range (AFR) technology, in which a single diaphragm combines the desirable properties of a piston driver at low frequencies with those of NXT modal operation at mid and high frequencies, can achieve greater than 8 octaves bandwidth.
