EndNote includes 3 reference types titled Unused. New types can be created either by using these or by over-writing other types that you do not need. To create a new reference type: • Select the Edit menu, then Preferences. • Select Reference Type in the list of preferences and select Modify Reference Types. • Use the drop down list to select one of the unused reference types, or select a type that you wish to over-write. • Enter a name for the new type in the column heading. • Add new fields as necessary down the column – matching the additions with the generic row headings. • Select OK to return to the Preferences Window and the OK again to save the changes.
