Regarding the “Should I wait for an update before purchasing Lightroom 2?
One thing I’m not seeing mentioned in a lot of the blog posts is how cripplingly-slow the slider response is. There are dozens of forum posts out there of people having the same issue I’m having: sliders are very slow to move, tend to “stick,” and Lightroom takes a longer time to update the image when you develop it. I’m regretting moving to LR2 because the issue has pretty much ruined my workflow and makes developing take a LOT longer than it used to. I no longer have the freedom to “play it by eye” when developing because it takes too long for the program to update the image and reflect the changes. Rather, I’m forced to use my keyboard for developing, which is considerably less-than-ideal. I don’t know if it’s happening to everyone, but it’s apparently happening to enough people for it to be an issue. As soon as I’m done developing my current project (deadline tomorrow), I’m converting my remaining few NEFs to DNG and going back to 1.4 until they fix the sluggishness issue. Localize
