Should AC power Surge Protectors be connected phase to ground or phase to neutral?

0

There is a practice by some surge companies to provide protection modules that are to be installed between phase and ground. This is related to power transmission “arrestor’s” that follow this practice because there is no neutral. In power distribution systems, the load is across the phase to neutral, so connecting the protection to ground, then from ground to neutral will effectively double the let-through voltage (LTV) to the equipment being protected.
